Seeing as the series takes place over one hundred years in the future, there are several advances in technology that have an effect on the story.

In the interests of public safety, self-driving cars became popular for personal transport. Autocars come in 1,2, & 4 person varieties. They can be operated by just about anyone, and rentals are available to anyone over the age of six. Rented autocars will not work outside of their area, which is typically inside the city limits.

POST[]
The Proson Omni-Sync Terminal (POST) is an older model computer than the PHAST. It was designed with ease of use and durability in mind, which its large (covering nearly 75% of the surface area) screen and durable casing provide. However, it is reported to be less comfortable than the PHAST. It measures 13.8 x 14 x 1.5* cm when opened. The top screen is tilted at a 20 degree angle when fully open. Both screens are near-touch.
